- Mee Suah Soup
How to cook mee suah? Since mee suah is already salty on its own, it can be eaten by just cooking briefly in boiling water (like instant noodles). Easiest among all mee suah recipes. No seasoning is required at all. You may add meat and vegetables if desired. You will not ask yourself how to cook mee suah another time.
Mee Suah Soup recipe shared here includes more ingredients for more flavourful taste. So saltiness in mee suah doesn’t come handy in this recipe and needs to be rinsed away. This Mee Suah Soup recipe is meant to be served as soup to go with rice. It can be consumed as a main course noodle dish on its own if the ingredients’ quantity is increased – mee suah can be very filling too.
Mee Suah Soup is a dish that most Hokkiens in Malaysia would have tasted before (or so I assumed!). Why? Mee Suah Soup is commonly cooked for children having fever, weak stomach or no appetite. Another noodle dish, Tau Chiam Soup (soya noodle soup) has the same role too. I’ve asked several Hokkiens who said they don’t favour mee suah and tau chiam very much for they remind them of being sick when they were kids! How odd. I love both the mee suah and tau chiam very much for their soft texture when cooked.
How easy is this Mee Suah Soup recipe? I bet it is easy considering the tastiness. Try it out!
