Recently, 2201 Fashion Avenue on the 2nd Floor of The Gardens played host to a bazaar like no other. The Malaysian Designer’s Bazaar held from 10am-10pm saw some of the classiest Malaysian designers all gathered in one place displaying their creative and innovative designs.
The venue was large and air conditioned with the booths spread out evenly across the area. The displays were eye-catching and beautifully organized. Plus, shopping bags were handed out at the entrance! Evidently the organizers have done all they could to make it a pleasant shopping experience for customers!

Customers were also be thrilled by the variety of goods for sale. There was something for everyone! Looking for eveningwear? There was Alex Tay’s line of gowns and dresses that are elegant and beautifully detailed.
For men’s wear try William Liew for a large variety of designer shirts. As for traditional attire, your eyes will automatically be drawn to Nazleen Noor’s corner for vivid colors and the softest of fabrics! Finally, check out ThirtyFour for chic, classy leather bags, purses and clutches.

Spotted this exquisite Alvin Tay creation and fell in love instantly! The gorgeous colors remind me of rolling waves. The glittering details on the straps are just too pretty for words and the flowing cut is so classy! Perfect for a fancy event or even for a night out!
And like all bazaars, the Malaysian Designer’s Bazaar proved to be a perfect spot for bargain hunting with discounts on designer apparels! Imagine designer items going for as low as RM 20, couture gowns on 50% off! Perhaps it’s not too early for prom dress shopping, eh?
Some of the designers were even on site to help customers in choosing a suitable piece.
I absolutely adore his gorgeous line of necklaces! Made of stainless steel chains with a precious jade pendant and adjustable satin straps, this necklace can be worn long or as a choker. Beautiful and elegant!
How could you not love Nurith’s collection of accessories? Studs are so trendy right now and the chunky necklaces and earrings are just too cute! So rocker glam, I love her style!
Aside from the designers featured here, top Malaysian designers such as Khoon Hooi, Melinda Looi and Karl Ng also participated in the event. It really was a large collection of creative geniuses.
Overall, the success of the event was mediocre as there were only a moderate number of customers. However, it is a great way to expose shoppers to up and coming local designers. With more events like these and the support of Malaysian shoppers, the local fashion industry is sure to boom!
