So who are the creative geniuses behind this lovely art and lifestyle project?Artitude was founded by a pair of good friends known on their website as E and K. E (whose real name is Eric), the creative director of Artitude, is a Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts graduate who is also running another graphic design house that has served corporate clients for the past 10 years. He is inspired by good movies and all things artsy and enjoys painting, potting and photography.
Kelly (a.k.a K) on the other hand, is a Philosophy (Hons) graduate from NUS. She had actually talked herself out of enrolling into Laselle in her teens in order to “play it safe”, a decision she now finds rather silly. During a sea turtle conservation program in Malaysia, E was pleasantly surprised that K provided pretty decent illustrations to her journaling. And so, when K resigned from her full time job in the tourism industry to do pottery while figuring out her purpose in life, E got her on board to make his Artitude dream come true!
K and E have both embraced the Artitude lifestyle whole-heartedly. When asked if they apply the Artitude concept to their own living spaces, K replied “Yup! We have designed one ‘Artitude Tees’ art decal just for our office main wall. Then there is Little Artitude Farm in K’s room, Wildflowers for our glass doors and Shy Dream Glass at the entrance. At home, K decorates her walls with Artitude Art canvasses. We basically wear our ArTees out for casual occasions whenever we can!”
