Fashion Event: Chic Pop Flea Market
Being a bazaar buff, I have visited many bazaars around KL and PJ. And I have to say; the Chic Pop Street Market held by Tongue in Chic at Zouk KL was by far the best!
The bazaar was held on Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th of October. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and I was delighted to be greeted at the entrance (also known as S.W.A.G area) with freebies! All visitors to the bazaar were given free samples of ZA’s Pore Smoother & Deep Cleansing Oil and Majolica Majorca’s Artistic Nail polish. That was a sign that it was going to be an amazing bazaar!
Sure enough, the Chic Pop bazaar was an absolute success! Most bazaars consist of vendors that sell all the same items sourced from the same suppliers, which makes walking from booth to booth not so much fun. Chic Pop was completely different in that sense! Every booth is a surprise and a delight!
It was a great mix of items for sale such as brand new suppliers items, pre-loved items, vintage items, imported items and even handmade items. Here are a few of my favorite booths at the Chic Pop Street Market.
1. BACI
All the way from their boutique in Bangsar, Baci set up a booth at the market selling the sleekest trendiest items. All pieces are brand new and are undeniably stylish. My absolute favorite piece would be a sexy bandage skirt made of a gorgeous, deep purple satin with an exposed zipper. So hot and only going for RM 69! Visit www.baciboutique.com for more info!
2. Old Blossom Box
Their booth was by far the cutest of the lot! I was attracted immediately by the bright colors and prints! The Old Blossom Box specializes in vintage or vintage inspired pieces. They also sell a variety of handmade accessories such as headbands and badges, all created in a super cute vintage-y style! I absolutely adored their headbands adorned with oversized bows, so insanely cute! Visit their blogshop at www.oldblossombox.blogspot.com!
3. An Old Flame
An Old Flame is a blogshop best known for their drop dead gorgeous photographs and their edgy style. Their booth was a delight to browse through as they had a brand new batch of sexy, edgy pieces as well as an array of pre-loved items that were so cute and in great condition! 4. The Brollies
Oh my god I could NOT stop gushing about this stall! I just love it so much! Their stall had a gorgeous display of the cutest little accessories! Their items are handmade with the prettiest chains and the cutest little charms from feathers to kitchen utensils and even teeny tiny handcuffs! I myself got a necklace with the cutest little Popsicle at the end, for only RM 12! In fact, the prices of their accessories were really reasonably priced and customization is available! 5. Chic Charity
Last but not least is the Chic Charity area, which is one of the main reasons the lovely peeps at Tongue in Chic went through all the trouble to organize this street market. The Chic Charity section is where fashionistas donate their unwanted items to be resold at the low, low price of RM 5- RM 15 and all proceeds go to the Women’s Aid Organization! Is that awesome or what!
These are just a few of the many, many participants of the Chic Pop bazaar. The variety of items on sale was absolutely amazing; I think it’s safe to say that I wasn’t the only fashion-lover leaving the place with laden bags! Missed the event?
