Kamikazee journey in Philippine music all started when the members met during their college days. Jay Contreras (lead vocalist), Jomal Linao (guitars/back-up vocals), Led Zeppelin Tuyay (guitars), Jason “Puto” Astete (bass) and Allan “Bords” Burdeos (drums) were all taking up Fine Arts in one of the Philippines prominent institution, the University of the Philippines. The band’s first choice of name is Kamikazee Cornflakes but they wanted to be easily remembered so they shortened their label to Kamikazee. The band’s name defines their philosophy which is pure passion and fearless music! The band’s premier album was self-titled and was released in 2002. Narda is so far the most notable single from the band which came from their sophomore album titled, Maharot (Unladylike) in 2006. It took three years for the Kamikazee to exculpate their fresh album, Long Time Noisy. With this album, you will find music that ranges from heartbreaking, to fun and light prankster music. Each word from the lyrics of their songs expresses rare creativity and unique wit and so ready yourself to be exhausted, exhilarated and be rock with Kamikazee’s Long Time Noisy.
