Today, eminent songs of the music hit charts from diverse countries are arraying from hip-hop to dance sensations. Particularly in Asia, numerous girl and boy pop groups like 2ne1, Big Bang, Wonder girls and Super Junior are smacking music charts in various parts of the continent. Meanwhile in the Philippines, a combination of rock, hip hop, and rap tracks are topping the charts this week.

Physical is a notable piece formerly sung by Olivia Newton-John in 80’s. Several artists have already spawned their own interpretation with the verse and one of them is Hi-C from Cebu, Philippines. With her first album name Body Talk, Honeyleen Concepcion-Rosaroso or popularly savored as Hi-C contrived her own rendition of Physical. She is not deemed as a fresh face in the Philippine music scene because she was actually a member of the hip-hop group, Dice and K9 Mobstarr. The posse was become noted in 2003 because of their single Itsumo. Hi-C’s potential was ascertain when she whined the female part in the verse and many Filipinos even envisaged that she was Japanese! However, the exaltation of Dice and K-9 merely lasted till 2008. Only later this year, Hi-C cinched to do a solo career and it’s a stupendous extract that she selected Physical as her debut single. Here is Physical, a definitely sweltering music video from Hi-C!

If Dice and K-9 have already left the local music industry, Young JV bursts in to replenish hip hop, smooth rap and R & B songs for Filipinos and Asians. Young JV whose real pseudonym is Eduardo JV Kapunan III is really a juvenile because he is 19 years of age yet he is doing magnanimous in furnishing fresh and full of beat music. He was 16 years of age when he perceived that he can quickly made an impromptu rap beat. His first album is titled as Doin’ Big Young JV which actualized an immense impact in the local music. Young JV’s sophomore album, ready or not has 15 tracks that will indubitably be a hit. His current single from the album is Don’t Know You that accentuates Heidi Riego. The adorable song certainly prattles about a guy and a lady who does not discern each other. The two just grappled and they just wanted to sustain each other in ponderous way. Watch out for Don’t Know You video because you will perceive voluptuous dancing ladies in the back ground!

Here comes Gloc-9 again! After his virulent political single Upuan (Chair), Gloc-9 is back with another national track named Balita (News). The notorious Filipino rapper whose perceptible forename is Aristotle Pollisco has exculpated his fourth album, Matrikula (Fees). The first three albums that he had exonerated impelled him to be recognized as one of the most auspicious hip hop rapper in the Philippines. Gloc-9’s 4th album is absolutely a work of labor and talent because he made most of the songs while he is in duty as a nurse in a hospital. The ward has imbued him to scribed verses about the situation of most Filipinos. Matrikula is also so distinguished because most of the celebrated Filipinos have collaborated with Gloc-9 to effectuate this amazing album! His latest and second track: Balita (News) is a piece basically vocal by Asin (Salt), one of the egregious Filipino groups. Gloc-9 added some rap lyrics with the song and together with the help of Gabby Alipe of the Filipino rock band, Urbandub, the single became magnificent! You will discover in the music video that it precisely converses about the Filipino conditions and government. A Filipino family and two guys playing chess that signifies Mindanao are just some of the features in the video that will make you implore for more.

The track termed At the Hospital by the band, the Ambassadors indeed like Gloc-9’s album had a motivation. The Ambassadors have existed in the Philippine music scene for so many years and they maintained their positions in not exposing themselves too much in the limelight. The band is primarily constituted of four men coming from Cebu, Philippines. The band members are Bai Nuñez: the lead vocalist who also plays guitar, Joseph Agura who engages with bass, Dennis Suarez who performed the drums & snores and Chris Janulgue who rocks with guitars. In 2006, the band yielded their album Question Mark with 16 tracks. Today, their album entitled Life Goes On has 12 remarkable songs which embodied their carrier single, At the Hospital. Obviously the setting of the video is at the hospital and all of the members are wearing hospital suits. However, the gist of the verse is slanting for a remedy at the place. Did they ever found it? You better scrutinize the music video to descry out!

If the Ambassadors hovered in the shadows of prevalence, Spongecola couldn’t resist their augmenting recognition especially with ladies. The band is formed in 2002 at the Ateneo De Manila University by the lead vocalist and the front man, Ysmael ‘Yael’ Yuzon. Yael’s long time friend Gosh Dilay, one of the guitarists of Spongecola appended him to look for the other band members. The two met Armo Armovit who is the other guitarist and Chris Cantada who became the drummer. The epithet Spongecola like most of the Filipino bands was not their first preference. The band first labeled was Sponge which was enlivened from R.S. Surtee’s Mr. Sponge Sporting Tour. When they found out that there was already an existing band in Detroit, USA branded as Sponge, they rapidly just added ‘cola’ with their band moniker. Spongecola already had absolved two efficacious and smashing albums and singles for the past six years. Yet late of 2008, the drummer Chris Cantada bid goodbye to the band because of his worsening health condition. Just later of this year, they have announced their new drummer, Ted Mark Cruz who already been part of other Filipino bands. Spongecola’s third album is a self-titled in which their latest and fourth single can be found. The rock track is titled, Walang Katulad (No Other Than). The song has a promising video where a couple demonstrates their love with one another by displaying distinctive dance movements. To fathom more about the music video, here it is…

Another alternative rock piece that exactly about loving someone is Ikaw Pa Rin (You are still the One) by Letter Day Story. The alternative punk rock band paved its way in the local music scene when it triumphed as the champion in one of the most prestigious band search in the Philippines that hailed the college students who has talent and capacities. Letter Day Story had bagged the first place in Nescafe Soundskool contest. The band is constructed of four young men who are all from the Southeast Asian College. Though Letter Day Story is au courant in the music industry, they evinced that they can coalesce with other renowned Filipino bands with their songs. In fact, Ikaw Pa Rin (You are still the one) from their self-titled debut album Sulat Araw Kwento (Letter Day Story) tells about a man’s perpetual love to a lady. The setting of the video was shot in a school and you will espy that most of a time, a lady is being stressed. If you can impute with the song then you should tout this video…

Is love really compels an entity not to torpor? For most of the people the riposte is yes. However, the Miguel Escueta’s track sleeping while the worlds awake is not about a person who is falling in love and cannot sleep. The carrier single is from M.E.’s 2009 E.P. which is Miguel Escueta’s sophomore album. Miguel Escueta instigated his music career when he consorted one of Philippines FM radio station contest titled, the Magic 89.9 Acoustic Break Competition in 2003. He won the first runner-up and his first album: I AM M.E which was unleashed in 2007 became an exigent sensation to his female listeners. With his irresistible voice, boyish grin and dainty face, no wonder women became lunatic with his music. His first single from his sophomore album, M.E’s 2009 EP is entitled sleeping while the world’s awake. The augur of the piece is very profound. A girl is being is converged in the music video which speaks a propos an individual’s quest for cogitations and ideals as her eyes are agaped by reality.

A person’s essence is really abundant of conundrums. The Filipino band, Sugarfree justified it with their carrier single titled Hay Buhay (Hay Life…). Sugarfree is pondered as one of among the few bands in the Philippines that have been survivor through out the years. Why? First, the band members are only three yet they have erected robust songs since 2003. Second, like other bands they have encountered faux pas and changes yet they are still lucrative in the music scene. Lastly, Sugarfree had already emancipated four breaking albums and with their fifth and latest album, Mornings and Airport they surely attested that there are unbeatable. Today, the band is composed of the vocalist Ebe Dancel, the bassist Jal Taguibao and the drummer Kaka Quisimbing. The modifications that took with the band was when their first front man Rico Blanco left them while doing the first album to adhere its own band Rivermaya and when their pioneer drummer Mitch Singson left the two. Ebe and Jal never gave up with their dreams in fabricating infusing music with their audience and with the aid of Kaka, a propitious fifth album entitled Mornings and Airport is in store. The cover of album is one of kind because it looks like a passport that filled with stamps and stickers. The album has 14 tracks and their first song, Hay Buhay (Hay Life…) tackles about the story of life in a captivating and nice melody. Here is the music video that will make you conceive that your existence is really statuesque.

Latest ‘one titled’ Filipino songs
One word can elucidate everything and even one idiom has multifarious meanings. This week, I will consort to you fresh tracks from the Philippines which songs are just one term. One phrase pieces are said to ascertain the entire meaning of the verse. Well, let’s find out if that’s for indubitable.
Yeng Constantino is not an unknown sobriquet in the Philippines local music industry. In fact she is very prominent because of winning as a Grand Star Dreamer in a reality television show in the Philippines named Pinoy Dream Academy. In addition is her remarkable song which she composed titled Hawak Kamay (Holding hands) which dominates the music hit charts for certain months even though the debut album is not yet out in the market? Yeng’s first album labeled Salamat (Thank You) has attained 3 xs platinum. With her magnificent album success, the preppy rocker emancipated a sophomore album to her aficionados called Journey last February 28, 2008. Yeng Constatino is still unstoppable because her third studio package, Lapit (Near) is envisaged to be out on the music store by the end of October. Wow the initial single is also the name of the album which is Lapit (Near). The dulcet strain is for a loved one whom she wants to come near to her. Do you want to fathom the exposition? Well, here’s the music video that you should divulge on…

Gloc-9 is certainly a winner in hip-hop and rap hymns. The musician whose irrefutable epithet is Aristotle/Aries has conceived tunes that have explicit messages which engendered him to won the Philippine Hip-hop Awards Rap Artist of The Year for consecutive years. With his much anticipated fourth album out named Matrikula (Tuition Fee), Gloc-9 ascertains that his best in rap and hip-hop. His controversial first vestige, Upuan (Chair) featuring Jeazell Grutas of Zelle band will generate one listener stupor what the song is pointing at. Is it about love, pain, happiness or death? Well, none of the above because the anthem is basically about the politicians in the Philippines.

Another political composition is from the rock band, Kamikazee. The ensemble is sustained for producing enduring rock sound in airwaves and entertaining videos. Long Time Noisy is their sophomore album and their single, Wala (Nothing) is a very gratifying song that shook the country. The video was seized in the incongruous cities in Manila which arrays Filipinos predicament. If the song is formed as a wake up call to the person who is the highest authority in the country, well you are the one who will find out.

Rivermaya is considered one of the most efficacious bands in the Philippines. The band was founded in 1993 with their first name Xaga. The lead vocalist back then was Jessie Gonzales. Unfortunately, Gonzales was replaced by Francis ‘Bamboo’ Manalac who is the vocalist today of the rock band Bamboo. One of the acclaimed songs from the band is 214 who ruled in most of the music charts back in 90’s. Unfortunately before their fourth album released, Manalac left the band. Rico Blanco, the one who played keyboards decided to take the position as the front man. Many devotees thought that the band will be forever however Blanco bid goodbye with the band in 2007. The band came with their third evolution with the new vocalist, Jayson Fernandez after Blanco abscond. Last September 2009, Rivermaya absolved their album styled, Closest to Heaven with their carrier hit ‘Dangal’ (Honor). The music is schemed for Filipinos who should not bequeath up their reputation.

The next piece is from the band Bamboo which the former Rivermaya performer Francis ‘Bamboo’ Manalac fabricated. Bamboo is a Filipino alternative rock band which was endowed in 2003. The band name is actually not from Bamboo, the lead vocalist instead according to the members their named their band in relation to bamboo trees which has fortitude and durability that is very Filipino and Asian. Before their called themselves Bamboo they came up with Audio Barangay which they deemed difficult to pronounce and educe. Good thing they changed their name to a simpler and easily recognizable. The band first album, As the Music Play brought the smashing hit ‘Noypi’ that rocked the archipelago. Today with their fourth album entitled Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday, Bamboo has once again manifested that they are illustrious with their craft. Their latest and fresh single, Muli (Again) is climbing agile in music hit charts. The video is very genial with cartoon visuals and the story is really outstanding. You will love the music video though you have to ready yourself for some spin in the end.

Arko is a four member band primarily constituted of the gorgeous and sensous lady Anna Melissa Culanay who is the vocalist, Brian Carlo Sta. Ana, the guitarist, Robert “Ivan the Squid” Raquid, the bass player and Roel “Boyet” Robleado in drums. The band name came from the word ‘arcane’. Their primary album termed, Arko which piqued Rico Blanco who effectuated it under Synergy Music. Arko’s first single Bituin (Star) had toppled other Filipino songs in radio airwaves and with their carrier song; Agimat (Medallion) the band will surely inflict pleasing music to their listeners. The lively tune plus the dainty music video, Arko’s Agimat (Medallion) is certainly one hymn you shouldn’t miss to hear.
